Tip of the Week
Every now and again we need to get back to basics and check our golf swing from grip to posture to ball alignment. In the next few weeks this will be our focus.
| Many people I coach have pretty good golf swings, but a poor or inconsistent setup prevents them from playing good golf. Let’s start with ball position… To keep matters nice and simple, try to follow the following guidelines: 7 – SW: Middle of stance 3 – 6: Slightly forward of centre Driver, 3 Wood: Opposite your left heel The important thing to remember is: be consistent in your setup! Setting up differently every time will ensure erratic golf shots. The ball position directly impacts your alignment and swing plane, here is how: |

• Having the ball too far back in your stance results in your shoulders aiming right of your intended target; this will cause a flatter swing plane and in most cases a draw.
