Tip of the Week
One of the most important elements of the golf swing is keeping your arms and body connected throughout. It produces a smooth, rhythmical golf swing with maximum power.

To find out if you are staying connected try the following drill…

Take a bath towel and tuck under both your arms, make a few practice swings ensuring the towel does not fall out. If you find this difficult then just remember the more you turn your shoulders the easier it will be to keep the towel tucked. The only time it should fall out is on the follow-through. Do this a few times on your practice swing – don’t attempt to hit the ball yet!!

Now take the towel from your golf bag and tuck it under your left arm and hit balls off a tee. Swing slowly, don’t try and hit the ball a mile! After a few shots, go back to your normal swing but try to imagine the towel is still there.

This is a great way to practice; even Tiger still does this drill from time to time except he uses a credit card under his left arm and a small towel under his right!!

Regards,
Ryan
