Tip of the Week
Playing the ball Below your feet
Setup
- As the ball is below your feet, the swing plane will automatically get steeper resulting in the ball moving from left to right in the air. Therefore, make sure you aim your club and body to the left of your intended target.

- Grip at the top of the handle to compensate for the fact that because of the slope you are further from the ball than normal.

- You need to be a bit more crouched in your address position.

- Try to keep your weight in the middle of your feet at all times through the swing. You may need to keep it on your heels to maintain balance if the slope is severe.

Swing
- Concentrate on following the line of the hill as you swing back.

- Keep the angle of your upper body exactly as it was when you addressed the ball and keep your lower body still.

- Let your club follow the same path along the hill line and into the ball.

Having the ball below your feet definitely affects the distance you are able to hit the ball, so remember to take extra club!!!

Ryan
