Stay hydrated
How often do you take in liquids on the course? (beers don’t count gents!!). Dehydration creates fatigue, makes you uncomfortable and can cause you to lose your mental focus – an important element in the game of golf.
Most of us make the mistake of drinking at halfway house and then again after the game, this is not enough. You should carry a bottle or 2 of water or an energy drink with you at all times and take a few sips of this on each hole.
Remember it is more important to take in fluids on a warm day but still important on cold days!!
Here are the recommended amounts of water in take for golf (if walking)
-- Drink about 500 ml of cool or cold water 1 to 2 hours before you play.
-- Drink about 500 ml of cool water or a sports drink 15 minutes before you tee off.
-- Drink about 150 ml of cool water every 10 minutes during the round.
-- Have about 1 l of cool water on hand per hour.
-- Drink about 500 ml of cool or cold water or a sports drink just after the game.
