Nomads blown away at the Links!
Nomads took on the Links this past Sunday with 100 golfers teeing it up for charity and love of the game. Eastern Cape Captain, Greg Clack, teamed up with Southern Cape former Captain and SFL Director Of Golf, Jeff Clause, Border representative and former Captain, Roger Weyer and 2008 Western Province Captain, Richard Plumb. All in all, the players on the day, came together from all regions of the country. As predicted, the day started in perfect weather and then, Mother Nature let loose with a little PUFF and the course proved its worth. Individual scores reflected the demanding conditions with warm showers, a nice treat of Castle Lite from SA Breweries and a cool Extra Special Bells Whisky to ease the pain! St Francis Links, now ranked in South Africa's top 10, continually draws an impressive field for all special events. The Nomads, over the years, have raised millions of rands for charity, continually provide volunteers for PGA Tour events throughout the country and always finish the day in coat and tie - showing respect for the game all it represents. OH, they have fun, TOO!
Dear Jeff,
It was a real pleasure to play a round of golf with you at the St Francis Links on Sunday past. I wish to sincerely thank you for manner in which you and the staff host us and make us feel welcome; from the friendly greetings, to the personalised lockers, to the Bells and Milk Oasis, to the great halfway grab and go, to the prize giving venues and snacks. Furthermore, from all Eastern Cape Nomads a big thank you for the wonderful green fee and cart rate that you give us – this really assists us in breaking even for the day.
Yours in Nomads,
Greg Clack
