Winter is here!
Winter, winter, winter is here! One shirt on – check. One sweater on – check. One jacket on – check! It has all of a sudden become freezing over the past week or two and the nice early mornings out on the golf course is not so nice anymore.
Regardless of that, we have had a whopping 77mm of rain so far this month. It is the most rain that we have had for the month of April in 3 years. Let us all just hope that all the catchment areas are filling up and that some rivers and streams will start flowing again. It has made things a bit difficult when it came to hollowtining the greens, as it is not ideal to do this when the greens are wet and soggy.
We completed all the greens on Monday and luckily got through the sanding and the fertilizing on Tuesday. The greens will however recover over the next week to 10 days. The rest of the course is in good nick still and we will be concentrating on attention to detail and bunker maintenance over the next couple of weeks.
