St Francis Links Club Champs

Who would have thought that another year has flown past and that Club Champs are upon us again?

The course is in great condition and I am sure that you will all enjoy the tournament this weekend. The areas that we did a bit of work on at #4 and #10 are recovering and the seed is germinating. Another couple of weeks and this will be grown in and back in play. The greens are looking good and we are aiming to have them running at 9 ft for the weekend. As we always do – there will be no tricky pins or tee placements. We always see Club Champs as a weekend of fun and enjoyment with friends and fellow members. I have always believed in setting up the course the same way, as members know it. There is no point in stretching the course to the limit and tugging all the pins behind bunkers like some courses do.

So do not be alarmed – the course will play the same as any other day; just with a couple of bells and whistles. So, all you have to do is keep your head down and follow through. I hope you all enjoy the golf (and of course the Super14 semi-finals)
