Challenging yet rewarding time
Well – what can I say? It has been a couple of weeks since I have had a chance to write a little piece for the newsletter, but I am sure that you all understand why.
It has been a challenging yet rewarding time for my guys and me on the golf course over the strike period. We all got back to basics - where we all started a long time ago in the golf course maintenance field – being an operator. It was early starts in the mornings for us all and I must say that we managed to stay on top of all the tee, fairway, greens, green surrounds, rough and semi-rough mowing. Thank you to all the members for helping out with the bunker raking.
Straight after the early course mowing we rolled into the halfway house, club house and helped out wherever we could. Well done guys – it has been a great team building exercise for us all.
The staff is back on site and all the heads of departments welcomed them back. Business must go on and they are our employees. Most of them are happy to be back at work and you could see that there was a certain spark within them. New procedures and tighter control and security measures has been put forward to all staff in all departments. Upgrades to all security cameras are on the go and brand new cameras that will be monitoring the whole security fence will be completed within the next week.
Yes, we did learn a couple of things while the staff was not here and we are implementing these measures immediately. I would like to thank all the members for their support and understanding through this time. I hope that you all know that we will always be here to deliver a world class experience and a championship golf course, no matter what it takes – regardless of whether we have staff or not – business will always go on.
