Course update

Hello golfers,

The drainage at number one are done and we are seeding the area today, Monday 24 October. We hope to see the first signs of germination in a weeks time in this area.

The tests on the 15 fairway with the poa control looks like this currently:

First spray on 12 October 2011

Some yellowing showing a week later in the block

What is interesting is that the bit of Rye grass left in these blocks are unharmed at this stage and that is what we are looking for. I will keep you up to date with this progress.

New life on the links as we welcome little Rocky and Dusty in the picture with their Kiewiet parents next to Jack Nicklaus drive. Its been a long wait to see these guys and every day they where seen breeding on the eggs.

Have a good look between the two big birds, they are there, and the names are because they look like a rock or a bit of dust on the picture.

Other work happening on the course over the next month will be the sodding of some paths leading up to the tees, spraying of kikuyu grass on the fairways, adding irrigation left of the 6th green and I would like to slice the fairways again before season time.

That is all from me for this week.

Happy golfing,
