African Braai… Feel it!
This past Friday Night about 50 members joined the staff to kick-off the World Cup with and African Braai – with a fantastic Bushpig headlining the food lineup. From the 'Pap and Sous' to the Shu-Shu Chicken to the Souskluitjies (baked apples and dumplings)– it was all great. Add some pure African music, a bit of local beverage and a Vuvuzela or two to raise the volumn. Clive Horlock imported the Bushpig and donated it for the evening; Chef Brad created a marinade and aged the big guy for a week in a magic potion and the rest is history.
For the past year, we have created, then discarded and re-created a website that I am sure will become your best source of information regarding South Africa’s best destination for golf, accommodation, lifestyle, family, conferencing, food and beverage, hiking, biking, birding, living, resting, recovering, rejuvenating and of course, raising family or retiring in style!
Dom and Brett and the team from 2Heads in Knysna have performed a little magic by creating an entire new look and feel for our brand and image – St Francis Links. In less than two months, they have taken our philosophy and energy and placed it on the screen for everyone to see. I am really excited because the website reflects everything from our beauty, our amenities and our opportunities for investment to “member only” information acquired by password. The new site will tell you “What’s Hot”, what’s for dinner, when the next event is, where you should be, why you are involved with St. Francis Links and even how to get here! My newsletter appears on it, Ryan’s lessons are there and Chef Brad shares some of his secrets. You can request a time for golf or dinner, book a conference and request a date for your wedding. It’s just about all there for you!

We can’t wait for the kick off on Friday, 11 June 2010, so join us as we celebrate the start of this historic event on African soil!
