Greetings from St Francis Links
Hi, Ryan here! Jeff has asked me to fill in while he is away on holiday. Here goes…
Sunday 5th September saw in excess of 500 riders and their families arrive at the St Francis Links to attempt the 2nd Annual St Francis Bay MTB Challenge. All events (5km, 15km, 30km and 60km) started and finished in our car park. As was the case last year, the weather played along beautifully and everyone enjoyed the experience. The event is organised each year by Richard Arderne of Pam Golding Properties, in conjunction with Fattracks MTB Club and St Francis Sport. They really did put on a good show!

2nd MTB, 500 riders, perfect weather and another successful event hosted by St Francis Links!!
On Tuesday the American Ryder Cup team was finally announced with Corey Pavin adding his 4 captain’s picks to 8 automatic qualifiers. He ended much speculation by picking Tiger after many said that, based on form, he should be left out. The other 3 captain’s picks are: Ricky Fowler, Stewart Cink and Zach Johnson. They will face a formidable European outfit captained by Colin Montgomerie and playing on home soil at the Celtic Manor Resort, Wales on the 1st, 2nd & 3rd October 2010.

| Ryder Cup time means that we are nearing Links Cup time as well! Each year we host a Ryder Cup type event on the Saturday and Sunday of the actual event. Two teams of 12 will compete for the St Francis Links Ryder Cup. If you have European roots then play for Europe and if not, play for SA! We will be sending out the entry forms within the next week, but block the dates off in your diary in the meantime! Regards, Ryan |
