I also visited Port Elizabeth Golf Club last week for the Hayes event in Glacier Junior Series. These have been really successful events and we had a little less than ninety juniors in the field. There was a presentation for the parents before the golf by Martin Briede and Graham Whale. The kids then played 18-holes followed by a fun clinic and a prize giving. The winner of each event gets invited to the National Final which will be held at Wanderers in Johannesburg in September. I love that Glacier have added an extra dimension to the events with the education element.
Congratulations to Theo van Wyk, who won with a 68 gross.
Selwyn Nathan’s event was held at Pecanwood yesterday and John Bland’s is being held at Irene today. We’ll report on those next week.

He finished one-shot behind Phillip Smith in the recently played St Francis Links Club Championships! The Ladies are shining in League Play! (Not only do they beat the bys, they beat most of the girls TOO!)
